Paul and his son asked for donations to Support Dogs in his memory. "I know that it was something my dad would have liked. It makes me proud to think that the money has gone to a worthwhile charity." Read Tom and Paul's story We know that many people visit this website for the first time having tragically lost a friend or loved one. We know what a difficult time this can be and we are honoured that you would like to support our charity in their memory. It will change the lives of so many families living with some of the most challenging medical conditions. Support Dogs works in partnership with the charity Much Loved – the UK’s leading in-memory platform – to provide you with services to help you remember someone special and – if you would like to – to fundraise in their memory. If you would like to raise funds for a specific area of our work; whether our epilepsy, autism programmes or our programme for people with physical disabilities or perhaps the care and welfare of our support dogs, we are happy to discuss this with you. Contact Viki to find out more Donate in memory Naming a puppy in memory Many supporters have chosen to name a puppy in memory of a loved one. We offer this to supporters who can commit to raising at least £8,000 for our charity (the cost of the first year of training of a support dog puppy). If you would like to find out more information about doing this, please do get in touch Contact us Creating a tribute page It is really straight forward to create a special, personalised tribute page for your loved one where you can share memories, photos, stories, music and videos to celebrate their life. If you would like to you can also set up a fund to donate towards the lifesaving work of Support Dogs in their name. Watch this short video to find out more. Set up a tribute page Organise a funeral collection Collecting donations at a funeral or memorial service and choosing Support Dogs to benefit is a very special gift. Your funeral director can provide a dish for a cash collection on the day or we can provide a cardboard collection box or envelopes if you would rather. Alternatively, with Much Loved, you can set up an online funeral fundraising page where people can leave messages and donations in memory of your loved one, even those who are not able to attend the funeral to donate to a funeral collection online. Create a funeral notice Fundraising for a loved one There are endless possibilities when it comes to fundraising in memory of someone you love. Many people undertake sporting challenges – individually or as a team – from marathons to walks to inflatable 5ks. You could consider organising a bake sale or a quiz night. The funds you raise will enable us to transform more lives. If you are not sure that an event is for you but you are still keen to fundraise in memory of a loved one, you could make a one-off donation, sign up to become a regular giver or consider leaving a gift in your will that will help Support Dogs continue its vital work in your loved one’s name many years into the future. Ways to fundraise Leaving a gift in your will 1 in 3 support dogs would not exist without gifts left to us in the will of those who care about work.
