Hi, I'm Reimi :) I'll keep my background brief so I don't bore you...Originally from Japan, I came to the UK to study veterinary medicine. Now I work as a small animal vet in beautiful Cornwall.

I have a strong interest in assistance dogs and I'm fascinated by their ability to help people. The work that Support Dogs does in training seizure alert dogs, autism assistance dogs, and physical assistance dogs is truly amazing and inspiring. (Have a look at their case studies here! https://www.supportdogs.org.uk/Blogs/case-studies) The seizure alert dogs can give a 100% reliable 10-55 min warning prior to the onset of an epileptic seizure in a person. With a good match, an autistic child can have a normal life with the help of an assistance dog. These amazing animals inspire me to get involved and to support the charity in any way I can.

Then I discovered Wim Hof the Iceman, who claims we can “be happier, stronger and healthier” through breathing exercises and cold training (have a look at https://www.wimhofmethod.com/, he’s phenomenal). I want to be happier, stronger and healthier. I live right by the sea which is about 11-12°C this time of year. Perfect.

I SET A CHALLENGE FOR MYSELF TO GO IN THE SEA WITHOUT A WETSUIT EVERY DAY FOR 30 DAYS.

So here I am, and I’ve just completed my first week!

I’d like to combine my efforts with raising money for Support Dogs. If I’ve managed to reach you some how, please give support for my 30 day challenge and donate to this incredible charity. Any amount would be greatly appreciated. Or just simply follow my crazy sea swims on Instagram #reimiscoldseachallenge where I’m posting pictures every day! Thank you so much for reading!!!
