Make a lasting difference by including Support Dogs in your will

One in three of our support dogs simply wouldn’t exist without the generosity of people who have chosen to leave a gift in their will. Your legacy could help train and care for the dogs that change lives every day

What is a legacy donation?

A legacy gift (or gift in a will) is a donation left to our charity as part of your will. These gifts have a long-lasting impact, funding the training, care, and matching of support dogs with people who need them most. Through legacy gifts, you can directly shape the future of our life-changing programmes.

Why do legacy gifts matter?

For over 30 years, Support Dogs has trained and placed assistance dogs that enable people affected by autism, epilepsy, and physical disabilities to live independently.
Legacy donations are vital to our work, providing long-term stability allowing us to continue to expand our reach and support more families and individuals.

How do gifts in wills change lives?

When Kym was first diagnosed with a disability, her world felt smaller and less certain. Everything changed when she started working with Support Dogs on our disability assistance dog programme

Kym is currently working with Support Dog, Essie. The Yellow Labrador helps her with everyday tasks and can get help if needed, giving both Kym, and her family the relief they need to live confidently again.

“The difference these dogs make is live changing and life saving. This is why Support Dogs is in my will. I know the huge impact it has.” – Kym

Types of gifts you can leave

You can choose the type of gift that best suits your wishes:

Residuary Gift

A residuary gift is a percentage of your estate (for example, 1%) after all other gifts and expenses are settled. This type of gift naturally adjusts to the size of your estate.

Cash (Pecuniary) Gift

A Cash or Pecuniary is a fixed sum of money, such as £1,000 or £5,000.

Even a small gift can make a big difference — just 1% of your estate could help us train more life-changing support dogs.
