Thank you so much for registering your interest in our epilepsy seizure alert programme.

Once we have a date confirmed for the next information day we send you an email alert which will enable you to invite you to apply for a place at it. Spaces at these information days are limited and are allocated on a first come first served basis to those that meet the programme criteria.

What happens next?

1. When space becomes available on our waiting list, we will contact you by phone. During the phone call we will also check that you meet the criteria for our programme and then ask you to send in your seizure diaries for the past 6 months. Once we have received these we will invite you on to one of our information days.

2. Following the information day full application packs will be given out to those wishing to apply. After submitting the application pack there are a number of assessment stages that need to be completed before a client is accepted on the programme.

3. Once our clients have been accepted they then wait to be given a date to start training. Support Dogs’ policy is to limit the number of clients accepted on to our programme at any one time, so their wait is no longer than two years.

4. Before training begins our clients may be introduced to a number of dogs before being matched with one that is suitable. This is ensure the best possible outcome for both client and dog. Training will then take about 9 months including some residential training at our centre and continuation of this training at home.

We will keep you up to date with our work and news of events and other activities you may want to join us with.

Our charity relies entirely on voluntary donations. Last year we received over 4,000 requests for help and due to our limited funding and resources, we can currently only help approximately 1 in every 100 people who contact us.

We are extremely grateful for anyone who can help raise funds for our charity  so we can help more people. If you are interested in assisting with fundraising please email [email protected] for information on how you can get involved.
